Disclaimer
[EVOS] stresses that class familiarity is important. "Meta" implies these builds are best suited to husk killing and soloing at TT. Play classes you enjoy and are familiar with but be aware your condi lead might ask you to modify your build when you come to TT for a smoother run.General Condi Build/Gear Guide

- Viper’s is the most optimal prefix because it offers the most condition damage and expertise (condition duration) out of any prefix.
-
Exotic vipers gear can now be gotten through
- farming Verdant Brink for Bladed armor or any other stat selectable armor.
- farm stat selectable exos from strikes (though the same currency can be used for ascended armor and weapons instead)
- festival dailies such as Dragon Bash, Festival of the Four Winds, Halloween all come with stat selectable exotic weapon crates for doing 5 days of festival dailies.
- A more complete accounting of gear can be found at this link
-
Condition builds can amplify their damage in two ways: increasing flat condition damage and increasing condition duration.
Most builds will have enough condition duration just by running the correct stats and runes, however, try to make sure you build stays above 65% condition duration (this includes any duration given by traits). - Some builds that subsist on one main condition source of damage (notably, Firebrand, condi reaper, some others) can get away with lower overall duration. Grieving gear swaps duration for increased power and precision, and can be good for this sort of build.
-
If you need budget gear if you don’t have viper’s yet, get rabid
Link to the discussion here.- Rabid gear can be gotten through karma famrs, including temple
-
For Trinkets:
- If you don’t have HoT or if you don’t have the living world seasons, exotic rabid trinkets are a suboptimal substitution.
-
As of the latest update to Living World trinket acquisition, you can buy trinkets from any map to convert it into the stats unlocked on your account.
Suggested maps include: (LS3) Bitterfrost Frontier, Siren's Landing, Ember Bay and (LS4) Sandswept Isles, Dragonfall.
You can also buy Mist Trinkets with fractal/WvW/PvP currencies (and be able to statswap the trinkets in the future.) -
You can convert Ice from Bjora Marches to LS4 currency for trinkets, as well as earn trinkets through completing the following achievements
- through The Hunger collection
- through Idolatry collection
- and through Olaf Olafson's Secret > Treasure Sleuth > Significant Otter Achievement

EVOS:
Each wurm gets a team of 3-5 condi defense members, one of whom is the Condi Lead responsible for recruiting and running the party at that wurm.
Parties recruiting only 3 are for blocked wurms (no intentional husks) and ideally are experienced enough to solo kill husks if needed. - Other guilds may organize their defenses, including condi, in defense squad. When in doubt, ask your guild for where to go, or in map if you're at another guild's slot.
-
Husks spawn every 90s and land in 3 predetermined spots when not blocked.
Every condi is assigned a spot and expected to kill their husk then check to make sure the other husks have gone down.- Husks are high toughness and functionally immune to power damage, but are low hp and do not scale with the event.
-
Husks have a defiance bar (the blue bar under the red hp bar) that is diminished by Crowd Control skills.
-
Hard CC skills like
Pull Pull ,
Knockback Knockback ,
Knockdown Knockdown ,
Launch Launch ,
Stun Stun , and
Fear Fear take chunks of damage off these bars.
-
Soft CC skills like
Immobilise Immobile ,
Slow Slow ,
Chill Chilled , and
Blind Blinded do damage overtime to this bar.
- (Further reading about defiance bars: link )
-
Hard CC skills like
-
Breaking the defiance bar renders it stunned for about 5s (Visually about ½ the recharge of the bar) and exposed to extra damage.
You should not break the bar as soon as it lands as it is stunned for several seconds and you can use this time to ramp up soft CCs or condi stacks (what works best here depends on build) as well as keep the husk still for as long as possible by chaining the two stun periods rather than overlap them. - Husks are capable of destroying important mechanic buffs and knocking reflect off their spots so it is important they are stopped from running off.
-
In addition to murdering husks, Condi supports Reflect or Block mostly by clearing/agroing any vet wurms close to the base of the boss, reviving any downed reflect team members or helping clean up any escaped spawns--larve being the most dangerous, and eggs being the things condi has the least ability to get rid of.
Blinds and stuns are especially useful for stopping vets from landing attacks.
Listen to your lead or reflect if they ask for help when you're not handling husks. - Final responsibility of Condi is to help with burns. If there are no husks or larva on the loose condis are free to join for the burn. Remember not to use any skills you will need off cool down for next husk spit.
CC Consumables

- A husk has approximately 600 unit defiance bar, but has a fast regeneration time. When using CC combos, it may take some time to figure out what your optimal route is on your classes build options. Here are some additional options that do not require any skills or traits, if you are struggling with getting the bar down fast enough.
- If you have Path of Fire, and have obtained either the Springer with the Forceful Impact mastery (2s knockdown or 200 defiance bar damage) or the Raptor with the Round Up mastery (300 pull or 150 defiance damage), either can be used as starting form of CC with their Dismounts after landing. Note, it will be hard to maintain the ability to remount if you have to fight many vets, or you have to fight husks right after burn.
-
With the Icebrood Saga chapter 3, EMPs were introduced to the game via the Mastery system. They can be obtained from Portable Waystations (a portable vendor that costs 25 supply and can be used by others for about 5min) in any open world map for 10 Supply per purchase.
They come in two varieties: To use, press the special action key after the husk lands and is no longer invuln. Effectively, EMP 1.0 will do about half the husk's defiance bar and make any follow up CC be very effective and usually break the bar. EMP 2.0 will completely take out the defiance bar, but is better paired with additional CC if the husk needs to stop immediately as the defiance damage will need to tick for a few seconds, and the husk may run out of the daze field. EMPs may also be used on the head in the final phase to do meaningful CC and help break through the unique Stability effect on the head. - Finally, there is the old school dungeon consumables methodology, though this will require some inventory management and tracking down heart and event-related vendors. A list can be found under Crowd Control here
